Position Summary:
The University of Northwestern – St. Paul seeks a Christ-centered, compassionate, and student-focused leader to serve as the Temporary Student Support Specialist for the 2025–2026 academic year. This role will provide support in two key areas of student life: student care case management and student conduct and discipline. This full-time position, ending on May 29, 2026, is designed to ensure students receive holistic support that reflects the University’s commitment to spiritual formation, academic excellence, and community life rooted in a biblical worldview.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Care Case Management
• Serve as case manager for student care concerns, coordinating responses across Student Experience, faculty, and campus partners.
• Meet with students navigating personal, emotional, spiritual, or academic challenges, providing care, accountability, and referral to appropriate resources.
• Meet regularly with the members of the care team to ensure timely follow-up and documentation of cases.
• Maintain confidential and accurate records in compliance with university policy.
Student Conduct & Remediation
• Serve as point person for accountability and remediation related to student conduct cases.
• Oversee the investigation and resolution of student conduct issues with integrity , compassion and consistency, grounded in biblical values.
• Implement restorative practices that encourage growth, development, and reconciliation within the campus community.
• Collaborate with appropriate department staff to ensure proactive communication and follow-up.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Work closely with the department leadership to promote a healthy, Christ-centered campus culture.
• Provide training and consultation for staff and faculty regarding student care and conduct processes.
• Model joy-filled, Spirit-led leadership that reflects Northwestern’s mission and values.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned. May be assigned other administrative duties within Student Experience as time permits.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Three (3) years’ experience in student care-related fields, (e.g direct care and support, social work, education, ministry, counseling, or conduct administration).
Optional (Nice to Have):
• Prior experience in Christian higher education.
• Master’s degree in Student Development, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field.
• Knowledge of restorative practices and trauma-informed care.
• Familiarity with Title IX, Clery, and higher education compliance standards.

• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
