Position Summary:

The Temporary Assistant to the Program Director plays an active role in supporting Life 102.5’s on-air sound, listener engagement efforts, and daily content operations. This position contributes to a variety of programming, creative, and organizational tasks that help ensure a smooth and positive experience for both listeners and on-air staff. From reviewing music logs and preparing on-air materials to assisting with events, social media, and occasional on-air content, this role helps strengthen the station’s overall quality and connection with the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Director with weekly programming and production tasks by reviewing and proofreading music logs for accuracy and monitoring on-air shows to ensure proper timing, pacing, and seamless transitions.
  • Create, organize, and distribute liners for On-Air Hosts while maintaining an up-to-date inventory of active liners and supporting scriptwriting needs for special projects.
  • Assist with social media posting, event preparation, and listener-focused initiatives to support station engagement, logistical coordination, and community connection.
  • Provide organizational support to the Program Director
  • Contribute to on-air content as needed, including voice tracking at least one show per week.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous broadcast experience
  • Internship or work experience in promotions, marketing or customer relations
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Recruiting: Ability to communicate the uniqueness of University of Northwestern to prospective athletes and their parents.
• Knowledgeability: Knowledge and understanding of collegiate sport rules and regulations.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
