Position Summary:
This position oversees access services including circulation, interlibrary loan, and course reserve to ensure effective, compliant, and user-focused access to library resources. The role supervises student employees, manages the acquisitions of materials owned by the library and oversees office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Circulation Services: Manage all circulation operations, including front-desk activities, inventory control, and response to patron and interlibrary inquiries. Provide circulation desk coverage as needed and coordinate library billing with appropriate departments.
• Interlibrary Loan: Oversee interlibrary loan operations including request processing, applicable recordkeeping and statistics, and policy/workflow updates as technology and systems change. Train library students on system and process changes.
• Course Reserves: Administer course reserves to ensure timely access to materials for students. Maintain communication with faculty to secure educational resources and ensure compliance with copyright guidelines.
• Student Employee Supervision: Interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise student employees. Assign and monitor work across shifts, promote high service standards, ensure task accuracy and timeliness, and approve biweekly timecards.
• Acquisitions: Coordinate ordering and receiving of library materials; maintain accurate acquisition records and budget tracking in library and campus systems; maintain quality vendor and business office relationships. Prepare purchase requisitions, manage credit card reconciliation, and assist with the de-acquisition of materials.
• Periodicals: Oversee the periodicals collection including ordering, processing, statistics, and shelf maintenance. Collaborate with appropriate library staff to ensure access to electronic periodicals.
• Office Oversight: Maintain printers, and supply inventories, coordinating paper and service as needed. Maintain office and processing supply inventory.
• Represent the library at designated consortium committees.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of two (2) years previous related experience
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
Nice to Have:
• Previous supervisory experience

• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Financial Oversight: Experience managing budgets and financial resources within assigned responsibilities.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
