Position Summary:
This role blends content production with on-air hosting to deliver engaging, mission aligned programming across broadcast and digital platforms. It develops the creation of high-quality segments, strategic content planning, and multi-platform storytelling while supporting community partnerships and station initiatives. As a key contributor to the listener experience, this position strengthens KTIS’s presence on air, online, and throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Produce high quality on air content, including selection, editing, and curation of segments that support station programming goals.
• Host and contribute to on air programming, serving as fill in talent across assigned segments, with the potential for a regular weekend shift.
• Plan and manage content coverage during host absences to ensure consistent, mission aligned programming.
• Develop engaging multi-platform content and support the station’s digital strategy through storytelling and audience connection.
• Monitor industry, cultural, and digital trends and leverage analytics to optimize content performance and audience engagement.
• Support station production needs, including assisting with promotional elements and providing coverage for Creative Services when required.
• Build and strengthen community relationships by identifying relevant local issues and producing interview segments that amplify partner organizations.
• Participate in station events and initiatives, including fundraisers, concerts, and community engagement activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of broadcast, media, or multimedia experience
• Experience with multi-track production software
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience hosting live or recorded radio shows, podcasts or similar audio programming
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience creating engaging on-air and social content, applying digital storytelling

• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in audio production, editing, and automation workflows, with experience creating engaging on-air and digital content, analyzing performance metrics, applying platform-specific storytelling strategies, and leveraging advanced computer skills to support high-volume productions and optimize audience engagement.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver's license.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
