Position Summary:
This position supports the athletic department by coordinating facility operations, scheduling, and essential game day functions while contributing to budgeting, contracting, and operational planning. It strengthens the university’s internal and external relationships through marketing, corporate sponsorships, community engagement, and oversight of promotional initiatives. Additionally, the position advances student athlete development through SAAC advising, Special Olympics partnerships, and comprehensive coaching responsibilities for a varsity sport.

This is a two-year position, ten months per year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facility Operations: Oversee facility operations and scheduling to ensure efficient coordination of athletic spaces, events, and game‑day support functions across the department.
• Operational Financial: Support financial and contractual processes by contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and partnership agreements that sustain athletic operations.
• Marketing Initiatives: Lead internal and external marketing initiatives to enhance event visibility, strengthen community partnerships, and support departmental fundraising and promotional efforts.
• Brand Engagement: Advance the department’s brand and engagement strategy through collaboration on social media, digital content, graphics, and campaign development.
• Student Development: Foster student‑athlete leadership and community service by advising SAAC and guiding service, governance, and engagement initiatives.
• Community Partnerships: Strengthen institutional community impact through coordination and oversight of Special Olympics partnerships and related campus events.
• Assistant Coach: Contribute to the success of a varsity athletic program by engaging in coaching responsibilities that support athlete development, competitive performance, and program management.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 1 years’ related previous work experience
• Demonstrated prior experience coaching within an intercollegiate sport offered by the institution, with the ability to effectively instruct, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to student‑athletes.
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Key Skills:
• Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
• Financial Oversight: Experience managing budgets and financial resources within assigned responsibilities.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
