Position Compensation: $38,250 / year
Location: University Campus - St. Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary:
Oversee the community of the upperclassmen students to develop an interpersonal environment that maximizes growth in the lives of students attending the university. This includes both collective and individual attention to students’ overall well-being such that they are best situated to succeed and thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
• Student Support: Provide proactive, holistic care for upper class students—especially those experiencing academic, personal, or wellness challenges—through outreach, individual meetings, and connection to appropriate campus resources.
• Community Development: Foster a Christ centered residential community that integrates faith, living, and learning while promoting students’ academic success, spiritual growth, and healthy relational development.
• Team Leadership: Oversee, mentor, and support the assigned residential student leader team (RAs, RDAs, ARDs) through regular meetings, ongoing coaching, and participation in recruitment, selection, and training processes.
• Program Facilitation: Develop, promote, and facilitate educational programming, workshops, and leadership development opportunities aligned with departmental outcomes and the needs of upper class students.
• Operational Management: Ensure efficient execution of residence hall operations—including housing processes, facility oversight, maintenance coordination, and general administrative duties—to provide a safe, clean, and well functioning living environment.
• Policy Administration: Uphold and enforce university, departmental, and legal policies within the residence hall; participate in student conduct processes to support a respectful and accountable residential community.
• Crisis Response: Participate in the rotating on call duty schedule and provide responsive support for emergencies, student concerns, and after hours needs to maintain student well being and campus safety.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous work experience applicable to the aforementioned responsibilities
• Must reside in the assigned residence hall as a condition of employment
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice to Have:
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, Ministry, Student Affairs, or related area
• Previous leadership experience directly related to residence experience

Key Skills:
• Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Crisis Response: Ability to respond maturely, professionally, and calmly in crisis situations
• Safety Training: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary safety training (i.e., CPR, First Aid, etc.)
• Flexibility: Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, with the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.

The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university or Christian owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of Northwestern, and an agreement to abide by all Northwestern policies.
