Position Summary:
The Theatre Communications and Production Coordinator position is a full-time role responsible for promoting the theatre program and performances by organizing and coordinating advertising, publicity, media relations, social media presence and marketing, ticket marketing, group sales and subscriptions, and theatre activities. This position provides office and administrative support to Theatre, Music, and Academic Affairs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate content creation (writing, social media, email, playbills, print/digital material, website, arranging videography and photography as needed), media relations, patron mailing list, newsletters, and data analysis to ensure consistent messaging to achieve program goals.
• Coordinate playbill/program content including artists’ biographies and program notes, press kits, tickets and lobby display, and photography.
• Oversee music ensemble concert programs/slides and posters, supervising student worker graphic designers.
• Cooperate with the ticket office to track sales and help to boost sales through promotional events and ticket giveaways.
• Oversee and delegate tasks to student employees, production assistants and interns to ensure all administrative duties are completed efficiently.
• Serve as a central point of contact, acting as the primary liaison between the theatre office, faculty, staff, student employees, theatre students, crew, cast, and the creative team.
• Facilitate communication, schedule and organize production meetings, take notes, and ensure everyone is up-to-date on production decisions and progress.
• Provide administrative support including following up on faculty tasks, ordering supplies, keeping records, calendar and scheduling, coordinating events, managing equipment, and facilitating external vendors and theatre production contracts.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Familiarity with theatre arts
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Nice to have:
• Post baccalaureate education, workshops, or other professional experience related to theatre and/or music

• Independence & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software. Ability to learn and effectively use institutional systems and software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind, and tactful manner.
• Flexibility: Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends as needed. Strong desire and capacity to learn and adapt quickly.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
