Position Summary:
The Events Coordinator plays a dynamic and integral role in planning and executing a wide range of engaging, high-impact events that advance the organization’s mission and strengthen connections with key audiences. This position collaborates closely with campus partners, donors, alumni, and community members to create meaningful and well-coordinated event experiences. With a strong focus on organization, creativity, and relationship-building, the Events Coordinator provides leadership in project management, supports marketing and communication efforts to maximize participation, and ensures seamless event operations. Responsibilities also include managing budgets and administrative processes, while maintaining a proactive, flexible approach to meeting evolving needs and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Planning & Execution: Conceptualize, plan, and deliver a wide range of events (fundraising, alumni engagement, and institutional events) that support organizational goals.
• Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Support the building and maintaining of strong relationships with internal stakeholders (staff, faculty, students) and external audiences (donors, alumni, community).
• Program & Project Coordination: Provide leadership, oversight, and logistical coordination for major events, ensuring alignment with university initiatives and successful execution.
• Marketing, Communications & Engagement Support: Support event promotion through website updates, marketing materials, and volunteer coordination to drive participation and engagement.
• Operations & Administrative Management: Manage event-related operations including budgets, expense and travel reporting, scheduling, and maintaining active community and professional involvement when applicable.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
Nice To Have:
• Previous related experience at a post-secondary level

• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.

The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university or Christian owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of Northwestern, and an agreement to abide by all Northwestern policies.
