Position Summary:
The Regional Media Advancement Officer builds and manages a portfolio of major donors by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships that support regional fundraising goals. This role strengthens engagement through regular regional travel, strategic donor communications, and collaboration with internal partners, including station managers and supervisory leadership. The officer also serves as a liaison between donors and assigned stations while pursuing ongoing professional development to enhance fundraising effectiveness.

This position supports a defined region and is open only to candidates residing in Minnesota, Iowa, or Illinois. Employees who live near a company office are expected to work onsite; those outside a commuting area work remotely. Regular regional travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts while maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all donor activity.
• Conduct regular travel throughout the assigned region to meet in person with major donors and strengthen philanthropic relationships.
• Develop and enhance relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations to advance regional media fundraising initiatives.
• Support the creation and execution of donor communications, including print and digital appeals, proposals, stewardship materials, and social media efforts (LinkedIn, Facebook, podcasts, newsletters, etc.) to engage new and existing donors.
• Collaborate with supervisor to align strategies with annual fundraising goals and contribute to broader advancement planning.
• Serve as a liaison between donors and assigned stations, ensuring excellent communication, responsiveness, and donor experience.
• Engage in continuous professional development and coordinated regional activity, including meeting regularly with station managers and exploring new fundraising strategies and best practices.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three years previous fundraising or sales experience
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice to Have:
• Experience in radio or related industry

• Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software. Knowledge and understanding of FCC rules as they pertain to broadcast stations.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel approximately 35% of the time for work-related purposes.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
