This is an onsite position in Minnesota.

Position Summary:
Hiring multiple positions for spring semester 2026: Candidates to teach courses in Art Methods for Elementary Teachers, Brass Methods (Music Education), and Middle School Foundations; and to provide supervision for elementary candidates.

The adjunct faculty position is responsible for delivering high-quality, in person, courses that support the institution’s mission and strategic goals. Teaching assignments are offered on an as-needed basis, depending on class size and semester availability. This role requires active engagement in the classroom, timely communication, and completion of assigned teaching training modules.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned courses aligned with the institution’s mission and strategic goals.
• Maintain a consistent, active and positive presence in the classroom, facilitating course content and engaging with students.
• Monitor and participate in class discussions to promote interaction and learning.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and concerns, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Grade assignments and provide feedback in a timely manner; complete required teaching training modules.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional credentials in the applicable field of teaching
• Three years successful teaching experience in grades PK-12
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Nice to have:
• Student teacher supervision experience
• College teaching experience

Key Skills:
• Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
