Position Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty, Department of Music and Theatre position is a part-time, in-person position, responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the missions and strategic goals of the Department of Music & Theatre.
This is an onsite position in Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach applied lessons for music majors, minors, and non-majors or other courses as assigned according to department need and area of expertise.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional credentials in performing/recording and teaching.
- Demonstrated success in performance.
- Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community.
Nice to have:
- College or pre-college teaching experience.
Key Skills:
- Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
- Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
- Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
- Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.

- All Adjunct Faculty are responsible for providing their own computer and home internet connection. Northwestern will provide access to programs and resources required for fulfillment of teaching responsibilities for the duration of employment.
