Position Compensation: $849 - $1,155 per credit
Location: University Campus - St. Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary:
The adjunct faculty position is responsible for delivering high-quality biology-related courses that support the institution’s mission and strategic goals. Teaching assignments are offered on an as-needed basis, depending on class size and semester availability. This role requires active engagement in the classroom, timely communication, and completion of assigned teaching training modules.

This is an onsite teaching position in Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned biology-related courses aligned with the institution’s mission and strategic goals.
• Maintain a consistent, active and positive presence in the classroom, facilitating course content and engaging with students.
• Monitor and participate in class discussions to promote interaction and learning.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and concerns, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Grade assignments and provide feedback in a timely manner; complete required teaching training modules.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree in biology or related field.
• Significant relevant professional experience
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Nice to have:
• Previous general teaching experience
• Availability to teach during daytime

Key Skills:
• Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
